Parmida Ziaei (she/her) | Season Scenic Design & Movement Choreographer (2nd season with ISF) is an Iranian multidisciplinary artist and designer based in Seattle. She is excited to return to ISF this summer. Parmida has been a scenic and production designer with many Seattle theaters including 5th Ave Theatre, ACT, Village Theatre, Seattle Shakespeare Company, artswest, Taproot Theatre, and Seattle Public Theater, among others. When not designing, Parmida performs, choreographs and teaches contemporary movement and Persian Classical dances. In her teaching and choreography work, she is interested in dance as a powerful form of resistance, and exploring how each person’s body embodies movement informed by their experiences to tell a story and express emotions.
