Julia and Leticia are stuck in arranged marriages with Sir Cautious Cashbox and Sir Feeble Fainwood, respectively, but each has promised her heart elsewhere. Julia longs for a way to re-connect with her struggling lover Gayman, while Leticia mourns her banished lover Belmour, whom she thinks is dead. While the old men boast, gamble, and swindle, the young suitors assume double identities, dance with devils, and put their lives on the line. In the meantime, our clever heroines utilize creative tricks to reconnect with their true loves, prevent a third arranged marriage for their friend Diana, and teach the older generation a few lessons on love.
